Lordons Penthouse

We had an amazing stay! The property was exactly as described—clean, spacious, beautifully presented, and equipped with everything we needed. The location was fantastic, with stunning views and easy access to local attractions. The host was incredibly friendly, responsive, and made the whole check-in and check-out process seamless. We truly felt at home and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area, and we would definitely love to stay here again!

Great location and beautiful unobstructed views - no questions. It had pretty much everything we needed but honestly expected more for a penthouse and for the fees. Toiletries were average, poor lighting system, decors were not what we expected, one dishwasher did not work properly, wifi was weak and did not extend to some areas of the house. Asked for a late check out which was not granted, and was offered to store bags for a few hours instead (understand the place was booked after us but even an extra half hour would’ve been appreciated considering the amount we paid each night). It was not the best experience for us unfortunately. Nevertheless, the host was responsive and always helpful with queries and we had an OK stay overall for 4 days but could probably find a better place with a better deal.

Bear in mind this was NZ$1600/night. Many down-at-heel aspects to this property which appears to have been running as a holiday accommodation for 18 years. (Cheap) artworks broken or falling apart, toilet rolls holder falling off wall upon first touch (woodscrew into gib, an obvious fail), toilet seat completely adrift from mountings. The wifi is atrocious: half the property has no usable signal (why have no extenders been installed when they cost so little). Other fails: wrong wifi password was provided to start off with; having been told we had use of carport for one vehicle, another AirBnB client turned up and occupied the whole of it and produced their welcome message saying that had usage rights on first-come first-served basis. Appliances, etc., looking tired and need a refresh; all the blinds are manually operated (automation expected at this price); old AV, etc. Great place at half the price.
